Goals for my work:
I believe that insight is the gateway to change; as we begin to better understand our individual stories, we become equipped to move forward in intentional and fulfilled ways, using our recognized strengths to edit and revise our ongoing stories as needed. Thus, I see the counseling relationship as a safe training space for my clients to unearth the wisdom and courage needed to move deeper into his or her own journey of self-awareness and growth. Though often difficult, it is a joyous journey, indeed. I look forward to walking alongside you.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas, specializing in the adolescent population. I received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Mississippi State University in 2012, and have since worked with children, adolescents, and adults at places such as junior-high and high schools, a college career center, a residential addiction facility, and most recently a pediatric inpatient eating disorder unit. I plan to obtain licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-intern upon graduation from UNT this fall.
